UNDERSTANDING THE ASSESSMENT

What is a Neurodevelopmental & Learning Assessment?

Unlike a standalone psychoeducational or autism assessment, this comprehensive assessment evaluates intellectual functioning, learning abilities, academic achievement, and characteristics associated with autism spectrum disorder to provide a complete understanding of an individual's strengths, challenges, and support needs.

LOOKING AT THE WHOLE PICTURE

Why choose a combined assessment?

Instead of completing multiple assessments separately, a combined assessment provides one integrated evaluation, reducing duplication, improving diagnostic clarity, and ensuring recommendations consider the whole individual.

Cognitive Development

How an individual thinks, reasons, solves problems, remembers information, and processes new concepts.

Learning Profile

Reading, writing, mathematics, academic achievement, and learning strengths and weaknesses.

Autism Evaluation

Social communication, behaviour, sensory differences, and developmental characteristics associated with autism.

What to expect

Our assessment process

A straightforward process designed to provide clarity, understanding, and practical next steps.

STEP ONE

Consultation &
Background Review

We begin by understanding your concerns and getting to know the individual. We'll review relevant history, previous reports, and other important information to help guide the assessment and ensure the process is tailored to your needs.

STEP TWo

Personalized
Assessment

Your assessment is tailored to your individual needs and may include cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, or other clinically appropriate measures to provide a complete understanding of your strengths and challenges.

STEP THREE

Results &
Recommendations

We'll review the assessment findings, explain what they mean, answer your questions, and discuss practical recommendations. You'll receive a comprehensive written report, and where appropriate, the assessment may provide diagnostic clarification.
